If you order a Modern with a maple top...

That equates to binding, right? Or is body binding an additional extra? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question.

I'm interested in ordering a a Custom Modern, basswood body w/ maple top, maple neck w/ pau ferro board, just a standard finish, Gotoh 510 recessed trem, SS jumbo frets etc. Kinda understated but I'd like body binding.

Scraped binding is a no charge option when a top is selected. LP style cream binding (cream/black or tortoise) is an upcharge ($400list) and double binding is not available on the modern due to its contoured body. Also note that there is an upcharge for recessing a 510 (this is standard when a Floyd rose is selected)

You can also have a non-figured top scraped. It's $150 for metallics and $100 for basic finishes. I had an alder body Modern with an aged cherry burst finish scraped and it looked amazing. Scraping always looks great IMO.
