Got my M4 in yesterday! Thank you so much to Bruce, Jeff, Frank and everyone else at Egnater for designing and selling such an incredible piece! Jeff talked me into the T/D, Vx, SL, and SL2. So far I'm overwhelmed with the amount of tones.. So much so that I can't decide what I want for MY main tone. So far I'm using A of the SL2, but I'm finding it doesn't clean up as nicely as I'd like, but it's all good, cuz I have days of tweaking to work all that out. I'm thinking I'd really like to try out all of the modules, but the EG3/4 primarily because I'm finding the SL modules a little to middy for me. However, I'm waiting on a TC 1128 eq that's gonna fill the empty slot in my rack, so when that arrives, I know I'll have no problem slicing out peaky frequencies.

I'm also thinking about getting away from my Greenback loaded Marshall 1960BX cabinet, and picking up two Rebel 112x cabs. Think I'll be missing my Marshall cab? Or do you guys think the Rebel cabs will do well??

I have a new rack coming as well - The flimsy POS Road Ready rack was just temporary. Here's a few pics..

Here's a shot of my Liquid-Foot equipped pedalboard. By the way, the LF is a great pedal for the M4 because of the instant access switch grouping. Plus, the LF has the same fine textured paint that the M4 does! I still have to label switches 9 thru 16 which are the channel switches for the M4..

That's nice. What pedals do you have in the rack? I think I would go with two 2X12 but that's just me. It depends on where you will be using the rig.

About the SL2 and the EG3/4. I don't know the EG is more low middy and the SL2 is more upper middy so not sure which one you are going for. Keep that in mind maybe.

+1 on this. My thoughts exactly.

Right, and that's what I'm after, a thicker more fluid tone, so the EG3/4 might be perfect.

Since I'll be hauling around a 16sp rack, I thought I'd save some space/weight and go with 1x12 cabs, but if they're not gonna put out the girth then I'll look into the 212x.

Pedal tray pic..

I don't really like the Marshall 1960 cabs... I do have both an Egnater 212x and one 112 Rebel Cab. The voicing is obviously VERY similar since the speakers are the same. The 212x has more bottom end, but I'd need to get a hold of another 112 to A/B the 212x against 2 112's in order to do a proper comparison.

Replace one of those CL80s with a G12T75 in that TM212 :). You won't regret it!

Ok Eric, I'll certainly keep that in mind as the next thing to try once I finish the pedalboard project. Thanks, -Danny

I use 75's in my Sunn 4x12 and it sounds HUGE. If you aren't digging the tone with your cab you may want to consider switching the speaker before dropping cash on another cab. The Eggs come loaded with CL80's as previously mentioned. I like V30's a bunch as well.

I also have a Sunn 4x10 open back that I need to get speakers for. If your concern is space you may want to consider a 4x10 as an option. In my experience 10's give you a nice tight, focused, punchy tone.

Hey man...try a X pattern of CL80s and T75s. I did that in my Eggie 4x12 and I'm super happy! Sounds even bigger than w/ just T75s. That combo works really well with the eggie gear.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was considering the tried and true V30/75 combo but I just may go that route instead as the CL80's are supposedly tailor made for the Eggs.

I know for Eggie stuff the CL80/75 combo works well. I tried the CAA OD100SE+ through it and I didn't like it through that cab. That head through the K100s...holy shit...my walls are still shaking :). Eggie stuff works great through both T75s and CL80s.

The EG3/4 is my favorite for a liquid'y lead. Second in line Erect on B for leads. I have the SL2 (ok all of them) and they are set up more like jcm 800 and jcm 900 tones in my rig. I like the SL for blues/led zepplin. :D
