I'm not real happy with effects through the JVM

Nothing I've tried sounds all that great through the JVM's effects loop. Granted I haven't tried many things but I'm curious.... Who is using what effects through the JVM's loop with very good results? My Magic Stomp sounds good but I can't get the levels to match up. It's eating a little volume and tone. The Digitech Digidelay sounds clearer, doesn't seem to be a mis match in volume but I'm not really digging the way it decays when playing rhythm. Didn't really dig the Boss CE-5 in the loop either. Hmmmmmmmm?????? Maybe a preamp tube issue?

Maybe the loop needs a decent-or-better rack processor to really shine?

I have a CE in the loop with mine, and it sounds great.

Do you have your FX Loop Level set up right?

I have mine set for full effect, but with the mix knob @ 50%.

You can hear it on my clean tracks:

I've been using a podxt...no amp/cab sims...just effects. Sounds really good to me.

I'll mess with that a little more. As per Santiago , if I understood correctly, for pedals use the -10dB set all the way to wet.

Level all the way up will make it like a series loop, which I prefer.

I had problems with my JVM, so I returned it...but while I had it, I found that there was a noticable volume drop running my Gmajor in the loop...my main issues were noise and feedback related...I got the new Vox AC100CPH when I returned the JVM, and had no such problems, although the Vox doesn't have quite the gain of the JVM...

I have had no probs with mine running an old Ibanez delay in the parallel loop and a Hush in the serial loop. Sounds great. :D

It's not that they don't sound good. Certainly usable. But I'm thinking there are better, more compatable fx units out here. But which ones work transparent with the JVM and sound excellent? And of those which is least expensive? :D

I am gonna give my Intellifex a shot tonight, it has always worked well for me and sounds great with my Blackmore so I would think it would work well the JVM, too. I'll let you know my results. :)

no problems here. Been using a DD20 giga delay, MXR KRK or the GE7 (Pantera SHEEEET), CS9, MXR117 EVH, and EVH phase90, all behind an Axess BS2. NO problems with noise, bleed or tone suck (well maybe a little, but not enough to be noticable by the audience or the band). George L's powered by Voodoo PP2+. :rawk:

Those seem to have some loyal users. I know a few guys that have owned one for years. I briefly had a Intellifex OnLine model. Took it back for a Lexicon Reflex. I wish I still has my two Lexicon Reflexs.

Killing me.

I pick up my JVM SAturday and the first thing I do is throwing the major in there...it better be good

The local Sam Ass is going to miss me not going there just to play their JVM

I had the G major hooked up and it mellowed the harshness a bit - sounds smoother- like Satriani tone. Cool. I switch between loop on and off on the pedal and the amps reverb on and off. Also, I hooked up a Boss DD-20 Giga-delay and it sounds great- does not change the amps tone at all. The G major changes every amps tone that I have played it through. Some good, some bad. I like it with jVM.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news since you already sold your JVM, but I have the JVM410H and G major and ran into the same issue. I kept running into issues of lower volume when switching on the effects loop on the JVM with the G major in the effects loop. Not only must you set your input and output signals using the two small knobs on the front left of the G Major, but you must also push the "levels all" button and in the menu select Global In Vol and set to O and Global Out Vol and set to 0. They are preset at I think -4 or-6 by default. Once I did that, Voila! no problems and plenty of volume!
