I'm officially a fan of Parallel effects loops now.

So last night was the FIRST time, since getting my Mod50, that I actually used the effects loop.

I used my Boss Digidelay DD20, set to +4db, with output B effects only. Had the effects level on the DD20 at max, and had the parallel loop knob at noon.

Let me tell you... absolutely perfect. It was an absolute joy to use some delay effects, without worrying about my dry tone getting screwed up.

(***For YEARS, I had been using a Bogner Shiva, where you had to use a special resistor ducking cable, then run back into an internal boost amp, then back out to the effects return.) And my tone always, always suffered. And setting up was a total rigamarole.)

I'm just so pleased with the effect loop on the Mod50.

+1 on parallel loop. Ive been saying that for awhile!
+1 on the parallel...but I use it for Reverb w/ my verb tank! :)

Otherwise I don't need a parallel efx loop w/ my Lexicon MPXG2. It does parallel efx mixing w/in the unit.

Some of you know I am still kind of struggling with my effects loop- take a look at what's running through it.

Still, the loop on the Eggie is *much* better then the one on my old Mesa. I've also got a DD-20 and sounds much better through this!

The parallel loop is great for delay and verb. I use mine with the onboard reverg like Eric and it sounds great. But for the multi fx units that have modulation fx the serial loop works better. Multi FX like Rocktron and TC stuff sound and perform better in the serial loop. Bruce designed good loops on the modular stuff, so I don't hear any degredation of tone.

My question is really the looper. I have my effects loop set to parallel for the delay and chorus, but I have a feeling the looper- a recorder- should be series. Not sure what to do- other then run out and buy a Mod 50!
