So far, my gear purge has been wildly unsuccessful. I sold a 50 watt combo amp, but acquired two hundred watt heads.

I'll be picking this up tomorrow.

I've actually been looking to add a Peavey 5150 or 6505 of some sort to my hoard, but this came along at a great price, so I figured what the fuck.
 
I played one of those in a store right after they came out....never really spent time with a 5152 to compare but it sounded 5150-ish enough to me
 
I just watched Kyle Bulls video on this. Seems like the lack of a resonance control might be an issue with this amp. I guess I'll find out when I go pick it up.

I do have an early 5150 here to compare it to, so I'll be sure to report my findings
 
They sound really good but can be ....fiery and unreliable, let's say
 
My buddy has one. Sounded good for a few weeks and took a shit.
 
Sounds great so far. I'm running it through my Butcher cab with the K100s. It does sound very close to the 5150. Very tight, and really doesn't need a boost. I haven't looked what tubes are in it yet, but I'm assuming it still has the stock tubes since the amp is virtually new, and still in the box. I guess it's nice that it has reverb, but I think I would prefer a resonance control. I think there is enough bottom end as is, but having a bit more available would be nice. I've only played with it for a few minutes so far, so I'll have to spend some quality time with it some time this evening
