I´ve got an old marshall cabinet, I think it´s from the 70s. It´s loaded with four Celestion G12-65. The specs on the celestion homepage say, the impedance of a single G12-65 is 15 Ohms!!

This means my marshall cabinet has an impedance of 15 Ohms, right?

Can I use this cabinet with my VH4 or can it cause a damage?

What would you recommend?

If it's got 65's in it, it's 16 ohm. I have one of those cabs, it's an 80's model, which I think it would have to be in order to be a 65 loaded cab, not sure so don't qoute me on that, but my Marshall with those in it has a plate/sticker near the jack that says 16 ohms, and I checked to be sure with a multimeter and it is, even if it is 15 ohms it's still safe though. Might want to check the site again I don't think they made 65's 15 ohms, I could be wrong though. Also, that cab sounds GREAT with my Herbert, I have two Bogner cabs I use all the time but lately I've been using a mix of that Marshall and a Bogner cab, HUGE sound that marshall cab is deep and smooooth, where the bogner is deep as well but brighter, mixes great.

Heh, does say 15, just checked it, still safe though.

I had one of those-it is 16 ohms. It is definitely safe to use it at 16-I did with mine for the better part of a decade.

BTW, those 65's sound killer, don't they? :)

Hi Otto !

If the impedance is 15 ohms You will be fine with the
16 Ohm speaker output. It´s nominated at 1 kHz.
Btw, the impedance is increasing or decreasing with
the frequency.
Don´t care about a few ohms with a tube amp and
his output transformer.
