For me it was Ac/dc and poison whej real little . I loved the unskinny boo solo . I still do , it’s got a great feel and he shreds some

I remember seeing these when I was younger. Back to the Future and the music vids of Robot Rock from Daft Punk and Thunderstruck from ACDC.

They always left me like damn..... whatever this is..... I want to do it too ^_^

It was legit these 4 exact videos that inspired me to play guitar.

This one because back then, YouTube wasn’t really a thing and MTV headbangers ball played this late one night while I was studying in my room. I was hooked.

When YouTube did come about I found these EXACT videos and was floored. Inspiration to practice beyond classic rock songs.

Good picks and yeah that Lynch vid is still fresh all these years later IMO.

No trust
Can be given freely, it's a valuable commodity
But obviously this is something you
Never learned!
Faith is something that you put in friends and
Had I excess morals to lend
I'd let you borrow them, but my trust you haven't earned!
We've got a problem
First of all, there is no "we"
I'm detached from you completely
I've got a problem
You tell lies to my friends and think it won't get back to me

There’s two other videos I can’t find. One is a clinic Jason Becker did and it was the full length clinic. Just amazing. The other is Paul Gilbert in the 80’s in super short shorts sitting on a guitar cabinet just going fucking ham on his guitar. They were also a huge part of wanting to practice more.

For me it was falling asleep to the Romero Family of Guitar as a toddler (or younger?) and seeing Mariachi at family gatherings. My first "guitar" was a laminated paper party decoration of a guitar that I took home from my nana's (birthday?) party when I was maybe around 4 or possibly younger. These are some of the pieces that I recall hearing while falling asleep on my dad's shoulder as a kid:

A little later I remember blues rock such as these:

So there was no moment for me where something snapped and I wanted to play, I just always did. I've certainly discovered new things along the way and my tastes have evolved, but it goes back to the above for me.

I used to listen to this album on repeat, but I've never learned any of the songs.

For me, it was Fade To Black. My sister had brought a tape home from some guys who were in her grade and doing it for the talent show. She got to borrow their tape and brought it home and that intro part just spoke to me. My dad had an acoustic and knew just a few basic chords but couldn't really teach me. My neighbors dad was a professional musician but he didn't really do much for me either. Me and his son loved it and wanted to play it. I had started to sort of lose interest in learning much of anything and just goofed around, then I heard Metallica was putting a new album out (Load) and MTV was playing all their videos and I saw the video for One. I thought that was on their new album and it just blew my mind. That is when me, and my friend next door too, doubled down and started trying to learn what we could from where we could.

Band Of Gypsys was released in April, 1970. Hendrix passes away Sept, 1970.
The following month, Oct. 31 1970, me and my friends got a Halloween Party to go to. Earlier that day, me and my buddy are in Alexanders Dept Store in Valley Stream, NY. He was looking for an album to buy to bring to the party.
Hearing that Jimi had recently passed, and not knowing jack about his music, I came upon the recently released BOG album. I liked the cover, talked my friend into buying it and brought it to the party.
I clearly remember not getting past the 1st track on the album. The repetitive riff and other-worldly guitar hypnotized us.
That track was the inspiration to play guitar. Since I was left-handed, I figured maybe bass guitar would be easier. My parents got me a cheap bass and amp, and off I went. Played bass a year or two before switching to guitar.

For me it was these two
