In the future, the Renegade will become Egnater's gem

I know the Rebel has become Egnater's hotcake and it deserves it, but I trully believe that in a few years we'll notice that the Renegade will become THE Egnater amp people rave about.

I've very seldom read bad reviews/comments about the Renegade, and the ones I've read are from people plugging in and instantly trying to play some Cannibal Corps, or some heavy death metal shit like that.

I'll say it again, the renegade is NOT a metal amp, it hardly is a hard rock amp,, it's a ROCK/ pop-rock amp.

who's with me on this? maybe Bruce will end up making a USA version of the renegade since there seems to be a few cork sniffers saying that even though the amp sounds AMazing, the fact that's made in China puts them off of it.

kinda looks like they are dropping the tourmaster...??... so most likely, that will be the flagship of the overseas made product. Great amp. Fan is a little noisy, but it sounds great, just tried one today

M4 for me. Renegade was good...but not great for me. Clean channel was really good..but the dirty channel was "bleh".... Not enough gain on tap IMHO...and a bit too smooth for my tastes. Having said that...my M4 is by far my favorite preamp I've ever owned. That's the gem for me. Along with the XMAN, VX (probably the BEST module EVER), EG34X, Hilly XTC, COD, etc.

I think the DLX and XMAN have the best clean tones for Fender...and VX for Vox.... I personally think they have more character than the Renegade. But...I'm a cork sniffer!!! hAHAHAHA ;)

Seriously, do you have any evidence of this or is it just a feeling?

I think the Renegade is the best mass market amp they make, and maybe Im a cork sniffer, but I still really prefer the modular stuff. I think that is really Bruce's legacy.

well my trip to guitar center over the weekend had a sign about the tourmaster, forget how it was worded exactly, but it was one of those almost last time closeout type of sales you know. And i didn't see any more in the store. Could just be this particuilair store, but I am willing to guess with the renegade, and rebel 20/30, this will probally be the focus from now on. Tourmaster was stellar, and perhaps it will only bring up the value of your amp.

I've thought of this also, actually. They have to avoid the GM problem- and frankly the Gibson/Fender problem- of having too many models that are too similar competing with themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if Tourmaster sales are down.

Maybe a re-design of it? Lose some weight? Quiet down the line out? Two channel version? One twelve combo version? Modular version maybe?

          \

The modular stuff is AWESOME, but it's not an "amp" perse...... that's why I said Egnater amp people will rave about.

The modular stuff is GREAT I'm sure, but since you can mix al the modules you want it lacks identity as a whole unit.

I'm getting an E2 and I'm getting some modules for sure, but I think this amp really has potential to become egnater's flagship. Bruce only needs to tweak a few things in case he decides to make a U.S. version of the renegade: fan noise, and refine the OD channel a tiny bit when the gain gets high.... I don't like the renegade for hi gain but the gain knob between 9:00 and 12:00 is just AMAZING

yea possibly, though it has been out for a few years, and their first overseas mass produced item I believe. So I would'nt be surprised if it is getting phased out all together, in favor of the lighter and cheaper priced renegade. A lighter tourmaster is a stellar idea.

My understanding is that the weight is basically in the two 12's in the combo 4212, and the power transformer. I don't know if the transformer can be lightened, but a one 12 version might work, although 100 watts is a lot for a 1 twelve.

It could lose the reverb to trim a few pounds. Not the greatest reverb in the world.

BUT- the power grid, the modern/classic switch, the contour knob- great features!

Could maybe lose the low gain input to lose a few pounds as well, although that can sound really good.

The tourmaster head is 60 lbs in itself. I personally dumped my rack in favor of a lighter solution, and don't plan on going with anything that my wife couldn't lift you know.

So they have (in terms of smallest to largest) the Tweaker, the Rebel 20, the Rebel 30, the Renegade, the Tourmaster and now the Armageddon (and Vengeance).

I could see phasing out the Tourmaster if they came out with an import version of the MOD100 (and hopefully the M4). I agree the modular stuff will be Egnater's legacy.

It has nothing to do with cork sniffing! It has everything to do with not seeing American manufacturing jobs lost to overseas, cheap labor where there are fewer regulations and it is almost like slave labor. No cork sniffing involved. That said, I do own some Chinese gear but mostly US gear where possible.

That said, the USA model with a better transformer WILL sound better, end of story. Sorry...

Nooooooo!!!!!! I've only had mine since last summer but love it. They're still listed on MusiciansFriend.com and GuitarCenter.com at regular price with lots of glowing reviews there, so hopefully this is not the case. If this amp hadn't been tarnished by the initial QC issues I think it would have been a better selling model. Lots of people just wrote them off after the initial problems, I think. Now that Egnater's import QC is worked out people have more faith in the Rebel, Renegade, etc., but the TM's image is still tarnished, I guess. Same thing happened to Bugera. The original 6260/333 series had lots of problems and they got a horrible reputation. Now they have redeemed themselves with the V series. But the 6260/333 stuff still doesn't sell well.

Dude,

I've been telling anyone who will listen for a long time... This amp is INSANE! Especially when paired w/ the TM212 cab. I love it... It nails the 87' Whitesnake/Sykes Tone to a tee Has Punch and Bottom, and Tons of Growl It's just Great.

AND I HAVE SOME OF THE BEST AMPS IN THE WORLD INCLUDING A DIEZEL HERBERT AND A CAMERON CCV!

Best,

Roid RAGE
