Got a good price on a 2019 Boden Fusion Neck-thru.
Super intrigued about the neck and if I don't bond with it
I figure I can move it and not lose a penny.

I've heard nothing but good things about Strandberg.

Apparently they play beautifully and if you have any issues they really look after you. I'm therefore bettin' you'll be happy, Donnie.

UGH. UPS said it was suppose to arrive yesterday but it hasn't been scanned by their system
since 8:30 Friday night in LA (I'm in San Diego so it should have arrived from LA very early Saturday morning).

Seller told me this morning that his UPS store told him March 1st when he had shipped it so I'll hang a little longer.

I'm not complaining! :sneaky: (this has been fired up all morning)

How do you like that Kiesel?

How do you like that Kiesel?

LOVE IT! Had it for about 4-5 years and play if all the time.
Took a while to dial in the pickup heights to maximize all 5 positions.
Kiesel is an incredible value and they make great stuff!

Good video review here:

The trems on those Strandbergs look so damned cool; always wanted to try one myself. Hope you dig it!

Dude, nice Vader!

It arrived. YAY!

First impression?
"Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore!"
More to follow.

Full review to follow. This is a nice added bonus. I had an extra Music Man Petrucci case
(regular Petrucci body style - not the Majesty) and it fits the Boden like a glove. Love these
cases cause you don't have to remove the whammy bar.

It's very cool but took just a little bit to adjust to. At first it feels really weird - mine came set pretty
stiff and I thought I'd adjust it but quickly noticed that stiff works because you don't need to depress
the bar as much as on my Vader or Majesty. Also makes really subtle Beck type stuff easier.

The bridge is very similar in design to the Vader but it's more precise and it's tons easier to change strings.

Thumbs up!

Nice! I have the same trem as the one on your Vader on my Dark Matter. I really love the smoothness of it. It still doesn't come close to matching the stability of my Floyds for extreme whammy stuff, though.

How does the Strandberg trem fare in that regard?

My extreme whammy days are long gone but I just tried a few and it worked great - Vai flutters too.
It's plenty robust but looks and almost feels delicate - hard to describe.

they really look after you.

Another bonus! An old gear buddy from years ago (Ed Yoon - ran Tone Merchants and then worked at Suhr)
is the head honcho of Standberg's US operations. We've been emailing back and forth all week - just like old times!

OK, this is just genius. I've owned a number of headless stuff over the years and
a serious gripe (especially for a home player) is not being able to use wall hangers.
Ola Strandberg solved the issue so simply, it's amazing others' hadn't done it decades
ago. I did have to adjust the two hanger tangs a little bit.
Such a little feature but damn! This is cool.

What do you think of that wild ass neck?

It really took all of 5 minutes to pretty much forget about it.
The fanned scale makes super fast staccato playing feel a lot more even across the strings.
It's basically a Les Paul scale on the high E and a Strat scale of the low. Intonation is better too.

I played it for probably 5-6 hours since getting it and then this morning tried the Majesty and
Vader for a bit - two lighter, neck-thru, and super FAST guitars. Put them right back in their cases.

It's still massive honeymoon stage but I have a feeling I might be moving some guitars soon.
