with my Ho attenuator fan dying, replacing the fan didn’t fix it Started looking around and found the SPL Reducer. Nice price and features for me, we will see how it sounds!!
cool good info thanks! mine is 50watt and I run the master about 6, so Im thinking is safe.I got one about a month ago and have run it pretty hard at band practice. It gets almost too hot to touch. It was making a high pitch whistling noise with my 100w Marshall at a gig, so I just deleted it from the chain. But it was fine with a 50w for my next gig. Still not sure this is gonna replace my Marshall Power Brake. My tech says it's made to take the heat, but I just can't believe it's normal for anything to get that hot that's supposed to be handled.
yeah man gonna see if I can find someone to fix it. Not sure how quirky of a design this is, hopefully someone can fix it! Gonna ask my buddy Roy Blankenship first.Don’t throw out the Ho. It might be repairable. Could be something really stupid.
there is a dial from -7 to silent. we will see how it goes!If the max attn is -7dB then I hope you know that is not a lot if you are trying to tame something at home.
-10dB is 1/2 as loud and because of the way we hear if you start with really loud, 1/2 is still really loud!
What are you trying to reduce and from what to what?
Stage to bedroom the Fryette Power Station is king IMO.
Garage to bedroom I'd go with a Tone King Ironman.
There's lots of good options these days. Just know -7dB isn't a lot.
Not sure why it runs so hot either.
yeah same here, just the features I need. Reviews I saw were all really good.I got mine because I read some reviews that said this was like the Fryette PS if I didn't want all the other features, just wanted to trim the volume. It is smaller and lighter and requires no external power supply, so I like that. My PS was big and heavy and not a great size or shape for gig work.
