Posted a thread in the main section of Rig talk but didn`t get the feedback i wanted with regard to my question and should have posted this on the Bogner subforum in the beginning: Her we go: In the link below are the most incredible tones i have ever heard from an amp. It is the Bogner Shiva, not the 20th. What is your experience with the different Bogners (20th XTC, Shiva 20th or older). Do you get these kind of tones and which amp of the Bogner line would you recommend? Well obviously the natural answer would be the Shiva since it is recorded with a Shiva but i would like to hear your first hand experience with the amps. Obviously the tone is just unbelievable, both the rythm (video2) and the lead tone. The XTC clone is great as well but i slightly prefer the Shiva since it is a little smoother.
Here comes the link:

The rythm tone from 1:40 is not from this earth

My 20th Shiva rules the world! Love her!
Thanks for chiming in. Do you get these kind of smooth lead tones swith your 20th? From clips i find the 20th to be more on the modern side?

To be honest I only get in the ballpark. This sound is the product of player, guitar, speaker AND Shiva. My setup is much crispier than his sound (probably because I also have a Scumback H in the mix).

For your question: Anni and regular Shivas sound a little different (with the same tubes). The regular Anni with the Kt88s is even more different (more bass and modern). Anni el34 is close the older Shivas, but a little more open sounding. But the difference is small when dialed in right. So if you especially like the smoothness compared to his XTC clip, the regular El34 is probably the way to go (I haven't played the 6l6 version so can't comedy on it).

The Anni El34 is close but a not that smooth (more open) but a lot more versatile.

One additional thing, the Shiva seems to be more sensitive to guitar and speaker than most amps I know. probably a good thing, but best would be to test it out with your gear.

Unfortunately it's not easy. But all killer amps!

Ciao Alex

Thanks a lot Alex. I think it will be the 20th XTC or the 20th Shiva EL 34.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. I have XTC gas for a long long time now. Maybe sometimes... In the meantime I rock the Shiva ;-)

I am not even sure what "on the modern side". means?

I find the 20th Shiva with EL34s, to me really smooth, if I dial it in that way.
