They used Ecstacys and Shivas on the record, and live. My band (at the time) played a gig with them in Norfolk, VA when they were supporting Burn It Black. I had met Danny thru a mutual friend in Atlanta while we were doing some gigs with Kings X. Cool guy, and great band. Not sure what he's up to now. He made a ton of dough though, so I'm sure he's fine.
Yeah, that's what I heard, but that most of it was a Shiva - it came from somebody who knew the producer I think (he was on one of the boards...who knows for sure, though). That's cool that you had a chance to meet Danny...definitely had his own niche. Last I heard he was supposed to get back with Jade, but nothing was said after that. I used to follow the news with D Grady on here:

Here's a post from Danny from '07 where he talks about trying to get the band back together again and 'The Truth About You':
hey guys, d grady here.
short version, i tried to get the original line up back together awhile back, to play shows, play the festivals that were offered to us. nothing more, nothing less, just a handful of shows a year. needless to say, it was weird, everyone started acting weird. i wanted to keep it simple, but it got pretty complicated. i quit calling everyone after that.
the record that was leaked onto the internet really wasn't what i wanted. so i re-tracked some of the tunes from the "truth about you" with my buddy kyle spence on drums, matt pruitt on guitar for some songs, chris unck on bass and guitar for some songs and me on everything else. should be 9 tunes. it's the best thing i've ever done, and every song on this version pretty much dusts every other version of the songs out there. it also sounds more cohesive since it was done in a week at the same studio. i don't know if you could call it injected, but, oh well, whatever, nevermind. i'll be mixing it this summer.
i'll probably put it on itunes, but if some of my more web-friendly cohorts will instruct me- there'll be a free version for any injected fans that come around these parts.
track listing:
1) lie and defy
2) gene genie
3) misunderstood
4) gift
5) spun again
6) the truth about you
7) dig me out
death ray
9) night
i promise you'll love it. much love to you and yours
d grady
p.s. i also produced a band from tulsa called "upside" and they did a handful of songs that i wrote for this record that I didn't want anymore- namely "monday", "watch it fade" and "daylight".
....He also mentioned that he sold the song "Spun Again" aka Bar-ba-sol to the American Idol winner - David Cook.
