I was searching the web and looks like someone was working on a Dyno tri chorus type patch but I have not been able to find the settings or syx file.. I am new to the Blackface, does anyone have a file like this they can share and also, is there somewhere that has a patch library other than the Rocktron site? Anyone here care to share files? There are some good custom files in mine now, hopefully there is a way to back them up and store them.. Happy to share if anyone can explain how to back up and share them..

Thanks a bunch :)

That´s probably analogkid85 over at hugeracksinc. He has put in a ton of work in the Intellifex and has a link where he shares the files.

I think the files are from him, anyone know how to reach him, looks like I cant signup on Hugeracks?

The Blackface I bought has lots of custom files in it, If someone can tell me how to back them up and post them here I dont mind doing that... Maybe others can share their collections?

Thanks, looks like the link I have listed are his presets... They are pretty nice.. now to figure out to get them in my Blackface, I want to back up mine first so I dont loose the presets I have.. Do you still use yours or have you moved to something else now?

gone

sysex files can be loaded from computer to device via midi port and a USB to midi cable like m-audio UNO for $40 bucks but you also have to load free sysex managing software to aid in the transfer i think

when i had the axe-fx i used sysex librarian for mac to load files into and manage, and then send to device when the device was enabled and ready to receive

read up on it in the manual and online about sysex transferring freeware

Steve, you have to make sure you have the later Blackface model. I have a Blackface and an LTD and I couldnt figure out why I could load the sysex files on the ltd and not on the Blackface since its basically the same parameters in both. After breaking down and calling Rocktron and Bob and I both scratching our heads it turns out the real early ones had a different chip on the board and you cannot upgrade the firmware or d-load sysex files. I'm not in front of the unit but if you scroll thru the params there should be a midi dump, and/or sysex load somewhere in there. If you look in the LTD manual you can find the info in there as well. Good luck.!!

Hey Phil and Mentoneman, thanks bunches...

How do I know which one I have, mine seems to have modded files on it.. I just cant figure out how to get the Intellifex Blackface to talk to the editor, Ive done this on my Boss GT-8, I think you set it to midi waiting or something and it all just happens.. When I connected up the cables to the Intellifex I am not sure how to get the editor to talk to the unit.. Do I need a second editor, I downloaded the one from Rocktron. I also did not see a way to load a saved (analogkid) syx file into the editor.. First I would like to do a dump of patches and save them into my pc before I start adding files..

How do I know which blackface I have?

Ok, I figured out how to setup a patch to be ready to load but I cant figure out how to get the fex to go to a mode to be ready to load/dump... I found it one time and now I cant figure it out at all, I have tried presets less than 80 and then ones higher than 80.. I can get to the midi ch and have that set to ch 2 as per what my midi uno is saying but nothing after that.. Ive been reading the manual that is available, but I think it is for a xl and may be a little different.

I usually just use midi-ox. I have an intellifex I will see if I can mess with it today and get the patches off of it. Mine is the intellifex online.

This is right from the Intellifex LTD manual... If you dont have the Midi Dump/Load parameter in the function select on your blackface then you have an earlier unit. This section is what I used when I thought I was losing it and couldnt find out where to load/dump the presets, which I then called Bob @ Rocktron..etc. Good Luck!

Turn the FUNCTION SELECT knob on both units to "MIDI Dump/Load".
MIDI DUMP/LOAD
Turn the PARAMETER SELECT knob on the transmitting Intellifex LTD to "Preset
Dump". (The current preset number will also be displayed.)
Step 3
54 PRESET DUMP
Turn the PARAMETER SELECT control on the receiving Intellifex LTD to "Preset Load".
(The current preset number will also be displayed.)
Step 4
78 PRESET LOAD

That's the stinking problem :( I got it to go to midi dump mode before and not I cant find it, or it wont come up... I was wondering does it need to be on any certain patch? Do you push Config first then go look for it, or just straight from a patch? I have read the manual, and also, going to patch 160 and looking for factory reset does not come up either.. could turn out to be a stuck button or faulty unit.. Plays great, everything else is great.. I emailed the person I bought it from to double check .. The only other thing I can think of is does it matter if you have both in and out on the uno midi plugged in when trying this? Ill try it again this evening and see if I can get it back into programming mode..The midi chs just need to match what ever the uno is set to right? Mine says ch2 so I have ch2 selected on the fex as well.. Phil are you using the programmer that is from the Rocktron page?

Steve,
turn the function select knob until you see "midi dump/load".... that is the only thing you need to do to make sure your unit is capable of doing it. You dont have to have ANYTHING hooked up... no editors.. no nuthin. My LTD has that feature when you scroll the function knob but my blackface doesnt. If you DO have the feature, then use the "parameter Select" knob to either "preset dump" or "preset load".
This came about for me when I loaded Analogkids' presets.. I really wanted them on my blackface but it didnt work out, but they sound great on my ltd.
I dont think you have any stuck buttons... it sounds like your making this harder than it is actually, which is what I went thru...  First make sure you have that parameter.. From your reply it sounds like you do, and if so that is where you have to start when doing dumps/loads. There is no special patch you have to be for it to come up. Good luck!!

Thanks very much for the help :) I am able to put a patch into the unit but cant get it to dump back to the computer so I can back up the current files.. Any trick to that? Also, just a note, at least on my unit, it does have to be set at 1-80 to be able to get the midi dump to come up.., When I try to dump the files back to the computer, the computer just says waiting... nothing goes..
