Ok, you, guys, rocked it on my setup question so I figure this is the place to ask. My wife bought me an ipad with the hopes of using GarageBand to do some recording. He renegade has an out for recording, but I need to get an interface. It's a newer ipad with the smaller plug(lightning?). Trying to keep it inexpensive but I'm open to all suggestions. I know I could prob go to the local GC and get the info, but it honestly love the local, little guy, boutique feel of this page. I'm not usually a fan of the big box music stores and finding some more great options to get gear from here. Thanks!!!! Joe V

I don't know about an interface, but I always found the Egnater line outs noisy. I would get a mike interface and just mike it up. OR- Garage Band has some pretty good models in it. Lots of people make an interface for the guitar (I use the Apogee). Just plug the guitar straight in and go with that.

Thanks Len!! I have access to an irig, so will prob try that til I get my feet wet. Thanks for the heads up on the out. You've been extremely helpful!

Lots of people do use the line out, but I think more for live. Now I am thinking I will try it again for recording!

Nt sure the not charging part siuld be an issue for me, but I'm also looking at the griffin studio connect lightning. Wouldn't be able to do vocals without a mixer, but I'm just looking to get my guitar down for awhile anyway. Anyone try the studio connect?

My line out is dead silent. I run direct to a digital tascam recorder
