Hmmmm

my herbie is clicking. When I stop playing I hear this constant clicking.
Its seems to increase and decrease in speed. When I hit the standby.
it doesn't happen at all. then I turn off standby and the clicking starts. I took all the effects out of the loop, changed cables around. Then the clicking would stop for a bit. then i will hit the standby. come back turn standby off and the clicking starts again. So its somewhat intermittent. Now i'm wondering if it has something to do within the standby circuitry. Very odd and its annoying.
It just started happening. Any ideas???

so again no clicking when in standby. Yes clicking when standby is off and
i stop playing. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dunno: :barf: :bash:

thank you Peter!! I will check

Power tube or preamp tube?

Very interesting because I just put in all new power and preamp tubes 2 weeks ago.
What causes the clicking??? :hail: THE BEST AMP....EVER

Did you try it with different guitars? I had the same thing a few days ago with my Herbie, and after I plugged in a different axe it was gone. Turns out my input jack has a short circuit.

Thanks scottph

Turns out it was a bad preamp tube.
i swapped in my old power tubes and it still clicked.
i noticed a preamp tube that looked very dim. Almost
out. so i swapped it for a good one. Clicking stopped.
i put back the new power tubes and still no clicking.
So it seems to be a bad pre amp tube.
problem solved so far. thanks Peter and scottph
