Hi JMP, I have a 1x12 cab to use at home with my Renegade. The 2x12 cab I have shakes the windows even when turned down, so I got the 1x12 to keep my wife happy. I didn't realize how loud I played at home even when I thought I was being quiet...LOL When my wife's at home I use the 1x12 and when I'm alone the 2x12 gets plugged in and played loud. The 2x12 can be open and closed back, I like it closed, with the back panel off it sounds very loose and somehow you lose the character of the guitar, just couldn't get any tele twang with it open, with it closed the 2x12 is the best cab I've ever had, on par with my band mates Boogie. So why have I told you all that crap....I found that with the Renegade the 1x12 was again too loose, not as bad as the Tourmaster cab, just not to my taste. The 1x12 cab is rear loaded, with a metal input plate. The front facing ports are 2 cutouts 3"x5" wide to the left hand side of the cab. I have covered these ports up and raised the metal input plate to form a rear port to give the cab a bit more tightness. I can turn up to loud home volume and my mod is fine, at gig volumes maybe the speaker would start to complain with a small port, but that's not what I use it for. For a small room at loud home use it works very well, the 2x12 cab in a small room pushes out too much thump even at reduced volumes and vibrates the walls. Both Egnater cabs are very well made and you seem to get your moneys worth. I also use a Beam Blocker in it and have upgraded the speaker hookup wire to Monster Cable. I've put more photos in my photobucket page, go to

and find the sub album Egnater 1x12 Cab.
