Is the Goldfinger the Caveman's next of kin?

Played my Ecstasy Classic for hours today and just soaked up the amazing tones. It has me wanting to check out the Bogners I haven't spent much time with. I've read the small amount of info that's available on the super rare Caveman amp. Had two channels that covered clean to medium gain and some pretty cool features (a light bulb that absorbs the initial voltage when powered on being one of them!) The amp was discontinued in the late 90s.

Bogner notes the Goldfinger pre-fx loop as originating in the Caveman and some of the descriptions I've read about the tones and feel of both amps seem to be pretty similar; these being a gorgeous clean tone and more direct and somewhat grainy or less "beautiful" sounding drive sounds. They both seem to aim for amazing cleans and a low to mid gain plexi vibe.

So my question - is the Goldfinger an evolution of the Caveman circuit? Anyone close to Reinhold know?

GF45 and GF90 are both fantastic, some of my favorite Bogners

Anyone here ever play one?

I have had Caveman and a GF 45. There are some similarities, but I owned them about 10 years apart it is hard to recall how they differed. the GF has a lot more gain, I do remember that. I also would say that the Caveman was more open and 3d sounding on the drive side of things. . I loved that amp and wish I still had it. Dig the GF pretty well too. sorry not more help. Ask voodoo sound (rob). He probably still has my last Caveman..
