Is the Peavey Wolfgang back as the HP-2 now?

I think it might be the same place that does the Czech-made Spector basses

I had one of the first run that were made from old parts and the finish and assembly was questionable to say the least.

My question is: the new ones, how similar is the licenced FR to the EVH trems or older HP2's?

The US HP2 I had, had the same FR that was on my 96 Peavey Wolfgang. As far as this new one made in Czech, I have no idea.

You can still find PV HP2s in pawnshops in the midwest cheap. I made a thread about them awhile back..they were nice. Hopefully someone will come along and review the new trem vs OG trem

The one I had sounded great but needed a fair amount of work to get in usable condition. There was little to no finish on the neck, the bridge pickup was cocked and there were multiple finish flaws. Of course the intonation was way out and it needed a truss rod adjustment. I did like the the coil splitting but the knobs they used were terrible and loose. They were really slacking at Peavey.

To be honest not the worst thing. Their attention to detail there is illustrated in their devotion to the greatest Pilsners.

Man that sucks to hear. I am on the secret lookout for an older one. A lot of country guys liked Peavy stuff down in Stone County, MO...

I have had some awesome Peavey gear over the last 35 years, so I will give them a pass.

Also, the price was very fair for what it was, it was only $1599.

That's only $400 more than they were 20 years ago.

I guess they just wanted to slap the old stock parts together and bring some cash in.

I played some old Peavey Tele style guitars, my grandparents lived in Branson so I hung out with some of the showrunners kids when I was younger. I always remember guys having badass Peavey gear and Peavey teles with gold hardware and birdseye necks.

It was an attractive guitar. Here is the pic from Sweetwater.

I have a Peavey Firenza with soapbar pups, the quality far exceeded it's price tag. Peavey was always great American made stuff.

I have a friend that bought one when they 1st came out. I forget what number he has but the fine tuners on his were really really scratchy, when he would try to fine tune they would jump to where he had a lot of problems tuning it. Hes contacted Peavey and hes been dealing with them for a year now still nothing has been done about it they tell him to go through Guitar Center and Guitar Center says there's nothing we can do. Other than that it is a really nice guitar.

Probably a 1000 series. Personally, I've always had problems with their fine tuners out of the box. They need lubed up to make them more workable. Some of the 1000 series Floyd's can be real hit/miss. I've had some work well, some plain garbage. And even those that worked well, were after some TLC. My Ibanez Prestige's Edge just blows them away.

It said Peavey on the tremolo. If it was the 1000 series I'd be pissed getting that tremelo on a $2500 guitar.
