Is the Renegade 50 the poor man's MOD50?

I heard someone say that the Renegade 50 is based on the BMAN and SL2 modules from the MOD50. Can anyone confirm this?

To my ears, more like a BMAN and a drive channel that sounds like the love child of a SL2 and an EG3/4. Whatever it is, it's good.

Calling it a "poor mans" Mod50 would be insulting. More like, a non-mod-able mod50.

I think the Renegade actually has more bells and whistles than the MOD50. 10/50w switches, tube blend, digital reverb, second master volume...

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS AMPTO COME OUT!!!!!!

Yes. Clean channel is Bman like and the overdrive channel is like either SL2 or EG3/4 depending on where you have the bright switch. Awesome amp.

I can tell you this... for about $1K, it will absolutely piss all over any marshall channel switcher.

the lead singer / other guitarist in my band is going nuts waiting for this to come out.. Anyway I can get on a "pre"-dealer list and get one drop shipped to me for a better price :)

Hey Casey ,
the only problem is the premlim pricing I got from a Toronto dealer was 1399-1499 if it stays 999 USD and the dollar does not contiune to fall before July when they expect them .

Great looking amp though a lot for your money

I don't know about it being a "poor mans" MOD 50, but it certainly will attain a level of production and availability that should satisfy a whole lot of people craving a good amp. And, true, it will have a combination of tones that seem to be the most common ones we go for in the MOD 50 anyway. It's a pretty temting amp I must say.

was this through cosmo music?

they wanted like $750 or something for the egnater 2x12.. they have a nice markup.. i'd probably make the drive to the states to buy it..

Remember Canada is another country......
Makes importing into Canada subject to all their taxes/duties, shipping costs, exchange rate (if any), etc. etc....

FYI, UPS shipping cost from Michigan to Canada is way, way more than from Michigan to California. Kind of funny since you can drive to Canada in 20 minutes from here.
