ah geez. my little cousin turned my vh4 on standby late friday night apparantly and left it on until this morning (sunday). i need to replace my tubes anyway, so i figure this is my opportunity to do so. buy my question is, can any other damage be done to the amp by having it left on standby for so long (about a day and a half)? i just want to know if there is anything else i should have my tech look at when i take it in for a re-tube. thank you very much...i would be a wreck if something happened to my baby! :aww:

It´s good for burn in the tubes, but who´s paying
for the invoice of the voltage supplier ?

:D

ha ha. yeah, i might have a little higher bill this month.

I have to check it, but should be around 150-200 watts.

I suppose it's not *too* bad. Like, 3 non-energy-saving bulbs. Obviously better to turn them off though...

I guess the large majority of that is to heat the tubes? Maybe I could buy those energy saving flourescent tubes!

Wow, that's a lot, wasn't thinking about this yet ... does a tube amp then use much more than that in operating mode?

Will there ever be an energy saving "green" amp? This might sell well with the current hype for green products ... I mean the hype that has been there since the 1980s in Germany, and which recently is also appearing in the US ;)

Heh I left my old Marshall 2005 on for an ENTIRE weekend before. I'm talking a full 72 hours lol! It lived through it just fine.
