from herbert to two 8 ohm cabs, i take 1 line from the 8 ohm out to one cab and another line from the other 8 ohm out into the other 8 ohm cab? im not sure how the herbert speaker jacks are wired, could someone clairfy please?

Tww 16 Ohm cabs would go to the two 8 Ohm jacks. Two 8 Ohm cabs would go to the two 4 Ohm jacks.

Andy, your amp has 5 jacks but just three (!) impedances:

one jack for a single 16 Ohm
two jacks where either one 8 Ohm or two 16 Ohm cabs go to - both are hooked parallel to th 8 Ohm tap
two jacks where either one 4 Ohm or two 8 Ohm cabs go to - both are hooked parallel to the 4 Ohm tap
