I've joined the ranks and become an Egghead. Picked up my Rebel saturday and spent most of the day just grinning and laughing to myself, (the wife came into the room at one point to ask who I was talking to, she thinks I'm crazy). The GC where I picked it up were out of Tourmaster cabs so I'm playing it thru an open back 2 X 12 cab loaded with V30's. I now know what people are talking about when they say the V30's have a nasally mid range to them. It's less pronounced with my rack with the Peavey Rockmaster but the Rebel sounds alot better thru the Tourmaster cabs. Oh well, might be time to sell off the rack and pick up a Tourmaster cab and some pedals.

Thanks for everything Bruce, it's a wonderful sounding little amp. You should have called it the Egnater Davey cause it can slay some giants.

BTW, Damn is this thing loud!?

Welcome and very glad you are digging the amp!

I'm using an mfx in my Rebel's fx loop to add some reverb and delay. It (Boss GT-10) has programmable patch levels, which I set pretty low so I can set the Rebel "Watts" higher and get a little more range out of the Rebel's master volume. With the attenuation, I can run the master volume a lot higher now for bedroom volume.

This works pretty well, except when I accidently dialed a patch that I had not turned down the GT-10 output level. I swear it was like the scene in "Back to the Future" when Marty hits the chord on the big amp! Fortunately there was no damage except to my ears.

How much money do you have set aside for your M4 preamp and modules? Do you have your hotel room booked for the next amp building seminar? Are you coming to Fort Wayne EggFest? Have you found an original IE-4 to buy? Are you actively seeking a mint cond. MICA TOL100?

At some point, you WILL have answers to all of these questions and more.

congrats on the Rebel.

I see a Tourmaster 2 X 12 in my immediate future after that the crystal ball gets a little cloudy. Before the Rebel came out I was really gasing for a Mod50. I can't tell you how much time I spent at Indoor Storms' site agonizing over the right combination of modules. Now that the E2 is supposed to come out (hopefully sometime this year), I can see that having a strong possibility as my next purchase after the cab. Call me stuck in the 80's but there's something about a nice, tidy little rack I like.
