I, of course, am talking about the outro solo to November Rain. I have been in love with this solo since high school and thought Slash climbing on top of the piano and just proceeding to kill that Les Paul was the coolest thing I have ever seen. I learned the first and middle solos forever ago and those aren't a problem at all. That last solo, however, is just so unorthodox in the note choice, bends, note values, etc that it just throws me off because it's really unlike anything else. So now is the time to man up and finally just learn the damn thing. Thank God I have Guitar Pro so I could find a good looking transcription of the solo and slow down chunks of it at a time to get the rhythm feel and notes and stuff down pat. It's the same thing I did for the Holy Diver solo and finally learned it several months ago. Too bad I've gone like 4 months since really playing much at all and all my chops disappeared lol
Too bad the only guitar I have up here with me at the new place currently is a relic Tele that has those old square vintage frets and it's absolutely killing my finger tips and getting this guitar to sing isn't nearly as easy as any of my superstrats. Oh well, I shall persevere, and also bring one of my more solo friendly guitars back up with me when I go home for Christmas.
