I've got the fear: two KT88's and two KT66's in a Dual Recto

I need to retube my Dual Rectifier Tremoverb 2x12 and was thinking of getting two KT88's and two KT66's (maybe four KT66's?)

Any clips, experience, complaints?

I want somore mids and highs from my TOV. I'd been using Ruby EL34's but felt they took away from the bottom end. <-different bottom end than just turning up the bass knob to compensate when compared to JJ 6L6's/same settings.

I don't want to kill my amp, as I've read some stories of amps dying after putting in Kt88's.

I like that combo and had them installed by a local tech. He checked the bias to make sure I was GTG. IIRC, he said to leave it on silicone diode and bold. It's just a matter of getting the right tubes that deliver the correct bias, similar to how mesa divides them up by color to distinguish a hotter tube vs. a colder tube.

Wait, which setting? 6L6 or EL34?
