Wow you got a pile of Heavy tone sitting there  I love the Herbert, just a crazy versatile and great sounding amp

Thanks to Peter Diezel and Peter Stapfer. First thing tonight is swapping my strings and to get to know the amp.

Peter (Diezel) we havent had any contact, ive had my doubts about bying one off your amps but its all more than good now. Peter Stapfer is a great guy and offered me the best (and also abnormal service!)

I thought that i wouldnt use the mid cut but when set propper it opens the tone in a wicked way

First things first, playing with the eq and enjoy!

Make sure you remember to power up the amp, first, the EQ works much better that way! :D

Enjoy man - you got one of the very best, well made and ultimate guitar amp tone machines on the planet.

Word - there are 100's of different unique tones that this baby will dish out, so take your time and get to know Herbert as a good and loyal friend. A good (Diezel) 4x12 can't hurt either, the deep alone will make that 2x12 follow you around the room in agony...

Its a Killer amp!

Had alot of fun with channel two last night. Had to restring my 7stringer first, that broke my spirit alote

When using the midcut i found that the tone opens up when using a lower intensity (less compression and clearer, even the mids stand more out), somthing like 30/35%, it also adds somthing sonicly, sorry dont know how to explain.

yeah that's what I noticed too.
Fun to play with it  ...although I'm not into that scooped nu-metal sound.

I better put a sticker over it calling it Mojooooo
Cause it definitly doesn't FEEL like a simple mid cut feature!

I came to this conclusion last night (my conclusion and situation):

at bedroom volumes the Herbert is not quite the best choice, but any volume higher than that its Killer! This amp needs volume for the notes to come alive and stand out. The SE wins at Bedroom volumes. So ill use the SE for home use and the Herbert for playing out ;) When using the SE at 100watts i have the same problem, at home i allways have it at 50watts. But ive just got the amp so i just cant let it sit there, the se will still be on vacation for a while.

Why the SE still for home use? i like to play with backingtracks, improv and practice and i use a simple stereo for this

About the Herbert not cutting in a band mix, i think it will do just fine  Just make shure you know now how to eq!

Herbert and SE, two different beasts both with cons and pros

Im verry happy with the Herbert, you cant compare this tone/sound with amps from other brands. The voicing, feel, response, sensitivity is different as it has been sad before, youre a Diezel player  or not
