Jackson Soloist Chris Broderick 7: worth it ?

Hi all,

I have a rgeat opportunity to get that guitar from a friend for good price. Guitar is the Jackson Chris Broderick Soloist 7 in Transparent Black.
I have already played this guitar several time and for my level of playing this guitar is almost perfect:
- Neck thru, Ebony FB, with a low profile Floyd Pro
- 2 custom Dimarzio (based on D-Activator) I think with some coil splitting and tone pot bypass features, killswitch...

The guitar is very heavy, much more than my Gibson Les Paul for example, but very comfortable to play.

I am ready to pulll the trigger, but as always I would like to have your opinion on this guitar for the ones who have experienced it, before let the money go...

FYI, my amp is Diezel D-moll and I play mainly heavier rock styles.

Thank you in advance for sharing with me your info.

Cheers.

It's a killer guitar. I'm really not much of a floyd guy or I would have the 6 string version. The body shape and neck heel are very comfortable. I'd say go for it.

Huge Jackson fan here. I'd buy one if I wanted to shell out that much for a 7 string.

I had the lower end of this guitar, the one worth about a grand, it played amazing and sounded nice as well. The real deal I would imagine is going to decimate. Really wanna find me one of the Broderick Ibanez 7s though.

I've had two of the six string versions and loved them both.. I never should have sold the first one being that is was one of the limited production actual custom shop originals from the first run that hit a few shops about a year before they really hit the stores. Gas got the better of me and now I regret it.
I was never really happy with the pickups that came with the guitar and tried a few others. You may like what comes with the guitar but I didn't.
That being said, that guitar is the nicest thing Jackson is making right now.
It is a little heavy but I like heavy guitars, it is perfectly balanced though and plays like butter. I loved the stainless frets!
I never played a 7, but I have to assume it's the same.
I'd buy it and never look back.
If the original one I had ever comes up for sale again I will grab it.

Thanks all for your words and advice.

Made up my mind the deal is done !
Guitar is in France now, it will get here in Germany this Friday.

I am absolutely in love with this guitar, the look and feel !

The only thing that bothers me a little is that I am not a super Floyd user, so I will have to get used to it.
A part from this, I start being comfortable with 7s, which took me some time to be honest.

The price is a litlle over my budget: I get it for 2500 euros, which is basically the price for a brand new in the US. But hey, this guitars is priced 5000 euros here in Germany at Thomann's !!!! So I consider it's a good deal... for Europe.

Initially, I had planned budget for a new guitar (Schecter KM7) and new amp (New Diezel Lil' Fokker) but this Jackson will be my gear of the year I think !!!

Again, thank guys, for your support each time.

Cheers.
