I'm younger than most here but I remember back in like 98, 2000 just discovering ozzy and worshipping the trio of guitar gods. Then came Napster, and that's where I first heard songs from Jake's album. It was underwhelming compared to the two Ozz albums, but revisiting it much later, there's some really good stuff on it. But, some of the songs are just okay. What do you guys think?

Is it a forgotten gem or just meh?

Jake made some cash playing with Ozzy, and that afforded him the opportunity to play bluesy rock and roll. He seemed to enjoy Badlands a lot more than playing with Ozzy.

Ray Gillan was a GREAT singer.

I also liked Eric Singer in this band too, before he went on to play in a cover band.

Badlands had some good stuff but not a fan of bluesy rock in general. Shine On is a good tune

Now I am a huge Jake and Badlands fan but I couldn't make it past the first few tracks of A FINE PINK MIST before I pressed stop and removed the CD. I think I was expecting Badlands and his solo albums certainly have not been that whatsover. I tried to like his latest solo album which was better than AFPM but it still fell short of the style of writing and playing style I know Jake is capable of, which may never come again.:dunno:

Sometimes you can never replicate the magic that once was..............

I think its great but can't really listen to it to often as I hate instrumental music in general ... it does really show how creative Jake is though

I think it’s a pretty cool album as long as someone isn’t expecting Badlands part 2 as most people usually are with Jake. The album cover could’ve been better

There's some interesting stuff on it. I like it.

The Badlands stuff was a major letdown. Seems very contrived. Can't stand Ray Gillen's voice...nails on a chalkboard.
