Do you mean Seymour Duncan JBs? Michael Amott always uses them and he has great tone.

no, there's a company called JB Player. or there was

I'm familiar with the duncan JB, good pickup

wow ! i remember that name from around 1987!the guitar player in vixen endorsed so i don't think a lot of people really used them. they looked like they were made OK strat shaped. never played one though.

MIJ Matsumoku guitars(at least in the 80's/late 90S) if it's anything like my Mats, it's good.

Was it a JEM that he hit her in the face with?

There's a custom luthier in Idaho, John Bolin that owns House of JB. John makes custom guitars for Billy Gibbons, Keith Richards and others. Here's the one I had him make me. It is a Billy Gibbons "Supermodel". It has a chambered body AND a chambered neck. This thing weighs all of 2lb. Has a SD Pealy Gates HB on the custom bridge. Relic'd out and is a tone monster. Just effin Nas-T. Took him a few months to build and it is serial #5. Check it out....

I had a friend that had one. His was a white Strat style guitar with a black pickguard (the Jake E. Lee look). I was young and hadn't been playing that long at the time, but I remember people saying it was a decent guitar? I don't want to say starter or beginner guitar, but I think they were reasonably priced. I think they were a few hundreds bucks back then.

I don't know if there were different levels of them, though.

I think you're right, they were more or less starter guitars at least back in the mid 80's imo. In '85 I had a J.B. Player strat copy with humbucker in the bridge and a (get this) licensed Kahler style bridge.

I assumed the company has been long gone these days...
