Jeff - Will this channel+loop switcher work w/the Renegade?

Wondering if this guy at the link above would work with the Renegade. I want to run a pre-gain EQ in front of Ch2, and be able to switch to Ch1 and switch out the EQ with one stomp. This says it will do exactly this, but works on amps with a single 1/4" input for the footswitch. Since the Renegade switch has that fancy 2 cable job, I wasn't sure if this would work.

I thought with the Renegade that you could assign the FX to either 1, 2 or both channels. If this is true and the FX is only assigned to channel 2, when you switch to channel 1 it should drop out. Right?

This is true for the FX loop, but the FX loop is post-gain. I want to run the EQ in front of the amp, pre-gain.

Well...maybe I can answer my own question. The footswitch connections on the Renegade indicate that on one jack, tip=channel, ring=main. So, I would assume that if I get a single button channel switcher, and if it is tip=hot, then I should be able to use that to switch channels - I just wouldn't have control over main in that case. I guess I'll just have to buy it and try it to see if it actually works.
