Any suggestions for a good Page tone other than playing like him, LOL! I have the Bassman, SL2, EG3/4 and E-Rect, plus the Xotic BB preamp. I have a few LPs, one with medium output pickups, one woth high output, plus an SG with low output pickups and a PRS CE-22 - stock. So far the Bassman and SL2 seem best...

Thanks!

I'm not a fan of his tone AT ALL, but it seems a lot of that sound comes from his pickups and the way they're wired. phasing options, middle position of switch, etc.

Actually, you might be able to get pretty close with the bassman module.

Thanks, I can get close to the SL on the SL2 with gain turned down. The Bassman is working well for that and even the BB Preamp helps for Page type solos. Hehe.. Thanks.

The SL or the BMan can get you there depending on the song you are trying to cover. Another thing is to get yourself a good Pro Bender fuzz, there are a few excellent ones out there, such as the Sweet Sound Pro Bender Mrk II or the Throbak. As soon as I plugged a Pro Bender (clone) in, I immediately said to myself "HolySh*t, that's Page's tone". Remember he did many of the early recordings through a little old Supro amp.

HAHA, no I did look it up. I just meant that I am not familiar with it. I am not familiar with fuzz boxes either. Do they really give a fuzzy tone? I thought pages tone was pretty smooth. Anyway, looks cool. Wonder what he used.

Lots of smooth fuzzs out there. There are tons of different types. A good one will take you from clean to TS9 to screaming & wailing all between 8 and 10 on you guitars volume knob.

I have found to get good Page tone that wrapping my fingers with duct tape or wearing mittens works well.

Any suggestions for a good Page tone other than playing like him, LOL!

oh... nevermind.
