I have never played a Dean I would own. Looks nice though, and has decent specs.

Had my reservations in the past, but these new ones are getting pretty good reviews. It's my understanding that World Music runs the factory in Indonesia. I've talked to several dealers, and other people in the know, and all have said Dean is putting out some nice guitars since 2018 & for 2020. One said best imports they've seen in 17 years as a dealer.

That's refreshing. I am betting regardless you will have it on the classifieds in a few weeks knowing you. Lol.

Props to you for getting one without a locking trem. Just my preference (of course), but I never found them appropriate on these....and ever since Dimebag, most people get them with that trem.

Got that covered with my Jackson!

Yep, 24.75, with satin neck finish. Duncan Customs are amongst my favorites too!

I've been looking at these ML Selects. Wonder if they're good value, considering the price. Seems everything's moved out from Korea to Indonesia. I loved my Korean Schecter PTs.

Congrats! Wonder how good the Indonesian World factory is. I see they're moving the LTD Deluxe range there too. Let us know how it holds up, please! I love my World-made Korean guitars. I'm curious about the Indonesian stuff.

World made awesome MIK stuff, but I gotta be honest I am hesitant to Indo guitars at least until they are more established.

I am pretty much all USA or MIJ at this point. But I have a terrific pair of MIK Fender Showmasters. I don't have a problem with MIK at all. But for me at this point I only buy used and pretty much have all of the guitars I need.

I'm right there with you. I've had many MIK ESP's, and Schecters that were all finely made guitars. I've had 3 Indonesian, 2 Jackson SL2's, (that were great), and an early ESP that wasn't so great.

However, they've obviously stepped up their game. Not sure how many Indonesian plants there are, but Cort is making the PRS SE's there, and World Music is doing ESP, Dean, Schecter and others. The South Korean factory seems to be doing all ESP Signature Series LTD models, and the higher end Schecter Elites. I'm still looking to pick up a C-1 SLS Elite FR one day.. seriously nice guitars..

I've had 3 ESP LTD Skolnicks, 3 Schecter Banshees, a Solo Custom, and Solo II Custom. All were extremely nice with zero issues.

Good to know that things are shaping up. TBH I will stay with Japan and the USA stuff most likely. I am not really looking for new guitars anymore. I have another MIJ Jackson coming today and there won't be too many more NGD's for me because I don't really need anymore guitars and have my bases covered. If I were to pick up another guitar it would be an 89's MIJ Charvel, or another USA So-Cal. For $250 shipped you can't beat a MIJ Jackson. Drop $120 on a Gotoh Floyd and you are ready to murder. This one is another DKMG.

I am looking forward to seeing what you think about the Dean and will be watching.

Cheers!

So far, awesome sounding, and looking! Fit and finish is top-notch. Nut was cut terribly, and set for .009's. Dropped it off Saturday for a new nut, made from scratch, and bridge volume switched to the front, and tone pros bridge saddles notched. Beautiful guitar! Duncan Custom SCREAMS, nice, velvety smooth V neck, smooth pots, switch, and zero flaws, (minus a poorly cut, shit plastic nut).

Great to hear. I am happy to hear that Dean is turning out decent stuff.

Am I going to see it on CL any time soon? Lol.
