After 2 Guitar Centers and 4 hours later.........I decided on this. Not what I had in mind when I started out, but it was the best player of about 10-12 guitars I tried. I intended on leaving with a LP Classic, but I just couldn't find one that played as well as this double cut. I'm not even sure what pups are in it, but I plan on throwing in a set of Rio Grandes

It is new. I'm kind of confused because the ones I looked at on musicians friend have only 2 knobs. I believe the one I bought is a 2007 model. Maybe they changed them.

whats the first 5 digits of your serial number and I will tell you what year it is?

Lewisville guitar center?

If you ever plug into an amp in the main room there, play some King Diamond super loud.

John Hebert (drummer on House of God and Voodoo) works there

Is that 2007

Very nice. I would have gotten them to throw in the missing knob.

So did you notice alot of difference in sound, feel, etc in the guitar you tried? Just curious....

Does anyone know if the bridge pup is a 498T or a Burstbucker ? The newer 2 knob double cuts have Burstbuckers.

I played through a Valvetronix amp with every guitar (at both stores). This particular double cut was much smoother than most of the traditional LP's I picked up. That included both a few Standards and a handful of Classics. I found some of them to be quite muddy sounding as well. And it just felt better in my hands for some reason. I'm sure many of the guitars were set up poorly or not at all and had much to do with it. But it just sounded and felt right to me. I really didn't want the double cut, but I let my ears and hands choose.

hmm, so you really feel it compared to a standard? i had played one of those before and just didnt dig it at all, but then again it was at GC and nothings ever set up or has new strings..

I have an Epi double cut that has been my go to guitar for a few years now. It just plays and sounds better than the LP's that I have had.

that is the exact guitar I want. But they don't make them in lefty. They'll make stupid backwards v's and explorers that no one will ever play. But they'll be worth money someday. Fuck Gibson.
