Just got a herbert the other day!

well last 2 weeks was the worst and best I think Ive had in my life. Started out by my desk top mother board taking a crap on me, then having a mild heart attack, surgery, 5 days in the hospital...Im feeling about 80 percent back to "normal". 2 days after I got out of the hospital a Diezel herbert poped up on my local CL :shocked: SO i though what the hay Ill send him a trade offer after a few emails back and forth we worked the deal out and myself and a buddy made the drive since the doc said no driving for a week for me :( the amp is in great shape, came with a road case, midi footswitch, the whole 9 yards

I cant beleave how good this thing sounds...its mind blowing and with the next 2 weeks off work Ive got plenty of time to play. So thanks papa Diezel the herbert is deff making this hard point in my life alot better to deal with.

Prob going to order new tubes for her tonight ...my heads kinda spinning on power tubes since most ppl say kt88 are the way to go but papa says the ruby el34's ..for now I think Ill go with what papa says :D

al yea my herbert is a mark 1 pretty low serial number I want to say 053

Congrats on the new amp and best wishes for recovery!

Peter actually recommends JJ KT77 tubes now. Ruby EL34 tubes have a bit of a high failure rate, which I've experienced first hand.

thanks everyone

Ive been going back and fouth on a few things today..switching pre-amp tubes, settings, cabs Wow u can really hear the differences when making said changes to the amp.

I ordered JJ's kt77's last night for it, she has svets el34's in there right now..man dose it run hot back there...had a old fan from a mark 2b combo and put it back there to help keep her cool

Ive tried tung sol, mullard ri, chin 9th gens, EH, so far I think I like the mullards in v1 and v3 tung sols everywhere else.

Have any of you ran a Diezel with a orange 4/12 before and if so what did ya think? Its werid becasue I always used my mesa cab for high gain heads and my orange for lower gain heads ..I might be just eq her all wrong pretty much everything at noon
 
right on peterc52 .. after that post earlier i kept messing around with it and deff think the orange sounds better with the herbie.
 
Herbert = one of the best amps ever created. Congratulations :thumbsup:
 
yeah! had a great time with used herbert and music man petrucci in a guitar center in san francisco two weeks ago... was fun!
 
i bet man... it sounds so damn good that you just want to keep playing and playing and playing. KInda funny the second day i had it we were jammn this new riff and the other guys stopped and It sounded so damn good I kept going lol got lost in the riff
