..and its an Einstein!!
Totally diggin it for the simplicity and the tones. Im working on the pedalboard now.
Few things i noticed though is when i adjust the knobs like eq'ing, i hear a little bit of crackling noises. Also, one of the led lights is out in the pedalboard. Any way of getting a replacement?? I bought it used from fuzzyguitars and it looks great and sounds good. Just those few things i mentioned. I'd like to find out more info on the mod too.

Congrats

You would have to go back a little but there has been alot said about that, and there is a thread on how to do it. I am having mine done now,my buddy had his done and it works good.

Hi Rob,

the noise can have a reason of static chargement.

As for the light get a blue LED with 20 millamps max.
It´s easy to replace.

In a week we expect a full review and comparison to your Herbert :D

I've heard from this board that they're voiced kind of similar, so if someone has both I'm always curious which one they prefer and why! have fun with the new family member

So far im playing it through a single 1X12 speaker and it sounds freakin great!
I can see how it sounds alot like the herbert but not as compressed. But i'll see when i plug it into my 4x12. It definitely feels like a diezel! and thats what i love!

Oh and what do you mean "the noise can have a reason of static chargement"? anyone feel free to chime in.. As long as it doesnt seem like a tube issue. Ever since i read the sticky about TUBES destroying amps i got paranoid! :scared:

Rob

I am glad that you got it.

As far as those two issues of the crackling and the footswitch led.

Both of those issues are new to me!

I assure that none of that was happening when I had it.

Make sure you have the footswitch plugged into the correct jack on the back of the amp.

If you are in the wrong jack, then all the leds wont light up.

Did the "static" on the knobs go away yet?

No problemo man! I believe you. I was just thinkin maybe it was dust or a tube issue. I think you said you werent playing it much.. i dont recall. I dont know why it does it though... Dont know what peter meant about the "static chargement" thing..
Im pretty sure its in the right jack for the footswitch though. One of the LED's works but the other one doesnt. The master works but not the channel led. It still switches though.

When you hear the tubes kinda "tic" what does that mean? Is it natural or something to look into. You obviously only hear it when you arent playing and the amp is on or just powered off.

How was the amp packed for transportation? Was the box too big?
I've noticed more often than not amps get screwed during transportation when the box is too large.
That said, problems after shipping heavy amps have become a pretty common thing lately, which sucks!

It was packed really well actually. Looked like the original box..? Dont know though.

sometimes you gotta check the bias again

it may drift and maybe causing stress to the tubes.

usually ticking tubes stop once they are good and warmed up.

So a week after having the amp im totally loving it
Im totally suprised that the einstein sounds this good!!
I just bought a bogner 1x12 cabinet today for it and it just Dominates! (Really love that bogner cab). I cant believe how warm the tone is. Not as forgiving as the herbert or as thunderous. But its got kind of a bogner'ish feel. I cant believe how much gain is in channel 2! Anything over 2 oclock and it starts to get feedback from all the gain. Like a harmonic kinda thing. Almost good.. Kinda reminds me of Trey Anastasio. He likes to use that kind of stuff in his soloing as do i in times of playing with Jam Bands or blues bands.
Anyways... So far im DIGGIN it! Im definietly getting the MOD!
And im also very curious about changing the tubes from the El34's (which sound beautiful) to the 6550's. Dont wanna ruin the sound or have the highs get harsh. I HATE treble. And think this is the warmest amp ive ever played tonewise.
...my girlfriend is so jealous.... :gethim:

Sweet. Glad you're liking it. You find it less forgiving than the Herbert? It's been a while since I played a Herbert but man, that thing must almost play itself! The Einstein as good as does to me!

Did you get the Cube? Probably the best 1x12 box I've ever played.

Yes i do. But thats only because its not as compressed. It almost seems like there is more gain in the einstein than the herbert.... ..maybe im crazy. It just seems like if i turn the gain past 2 oclock i get too much of that harmonic feedback. The herbert has that BIG low end that i love and that rediculous compression. But the einstein has something else i cant yet explain. And with that new bogner cabinet, it just brings it to life even more!

Cube? oooo..whats that? I got the Shiva 1X12 i believe. It sounds great! Cant believe its only a single speaker with that much sound. Handles lows REALLY well too!
