Hey guys,

I just saw Third Eye Blind last night, and they were killer! May not be some other people's cup of tea but they're one of my favorites, so I may be biased. The lead guitarist was playing a Bogner Ecstasy, which kind of surprised me. I wasn't expecting to go to their show and see half the stuff they did. The tone out of that thing was AWESOME though. It's hard to judge by just listening to someone else, but it's definitely on my list now of amps to try.

I saw them back in the 90's, i thought Our Lady Peace blew them away though when they opened because the singer from Third Eye Blind wasn't good live. The band sounded good but the singers voice was shot.

I liked their first album and the guitar player had some good tones on it.

3eb has been my guilty pleasure for years. friends are always confused when looking through my all sub genre encompassing metal collection when they find the entire 3eb catalog!

The singer was AWESOME last night. I've also heard complaints about him live but yesterday he definitely delivered. People think the same about my music collection...going from Lamb of God to Third Eye Blind to Taylor Swift just doesn't make sense to some people. There were some really cool tones. The lead guitarist's wah sound was really good. It just stuck out a bit. I wish I was close enough to see pedalboards!

I saw them a number of years ago, they put on a good show, I would rate it as about average. Have you picked up the new album yet?

I have the "new" record which was actually recorded at the same time as the previous.

Do you recommend it or not?

I like the first 2, that is all I have....

Nothing tops the first record for songs, tone, and vibe. One of my top 5 desert-island albums.

Kevin Cadogan, in my opinion, contributed a heck of a lot more interesting stuff to 3EB than the new dude.

My g/f loves that band
She also listens to some band the singer from 3EB produced Snake River Conspiracy I think she said the singer in that band was 3EB's singers g/f or something..

I picked up the new album when it came out. I think it's good, but it's not as good as, say, the first one.

Was the singer in 3rd the dude in Rockstar that took Walburg's place in the band?

thats hard to say, you've missed two records ursa major and ursa minor i was going to say you'll like minor if you liked major but you haven't heard it, lol...

I dont have the nostalgia alot of people do for this band. I think they have a handful of pretty good songs and had a solid debut album, but thats about the extent of it. I think lots of other bands in the late 90s pop rock genre did it (and still do it) better such as Nine Days, Matchbox Twenty, and Splender.

Ive seen them live a few times and each time Jenkins could not sing. He is the Anthony Kiedis of the pop rock world. He pretty much sing-raps his way through the songs off key with his trademark lisp. Its painful.

Their guitar player could RIP though.

IDK, I guess I just never GOT IT with this band. Ive tried many times. The new album has 2 or 3 good tracks up front and the rest is a snooze-fest. YMMV.
