I live in NL and there are no Egnater dealers here. I had a Rebel 30 head up until last night, I sold it because I wasn't using it gigging or practicing. I decided that a combo would be better for gigging than dragging around and cabinet and speaker along with all the rest of the gear I have to bring - I guess as you get older you want to travel lighter!
So I bought a Hughes and Kettner Statesman Dual EL84.

Anyhow, with the money I was buying another amp anyhow, and was wondering how the Tweaker compared to the Rebel 30? Will I get the sparkling cleans and the nice gain? I didn't need 30w the Rebel had and getting to it's sweet spot was too loud for home use (3 kids and a wife right above my man cave!) any differences between the Head & Cabinet vs the combo? how is the G12h Celestion?

Throw some opinions at me - please! And if you can suggest a BETTER amp in the price range for a classic rock player I'm all ears!

TIA,

Cancel that - guy that bought my Rebel 30 just called and it's "Not the sound in his head" so was wondering if I would take it back, I said "GLADLY!"

I was having seller's remorse anyhow........

Even at 1 watt the sweet spot on the Rebel 30 is pretty loud.

I agree. I find the 1w-30w dial the most "subtle" of all the features of this amp. I really don't her a big difference at all.
Having said that I am happy to be getting the amp back, I really had a soft spot for that amp. I have no idea what prompted me to sell it.
I walked into a guitar store today with the cash, looked around at what they had there and thought to myself "there is nothing here I want!" (and what I would want I couldn't afford anyhow!)
I know it sounds "average" at low volumes but man when the Rebel 30 is cranked it sounds great. The Tweakability factor is cool too.
I can't wait to welcome it back!

I have the line 6 POD farm with probably over 20 amp models for recording and I still do all of my recording with my Rebel through a mic'd cab.
Try throwing in some vintage 30's or greenbacks and give it another go.

I had the Head version of the Rebel 30. I just placed it on top of an Orange 112 with a V30 in it and it sounds great! So glad I got er back!
