I am in a long distance relationship with my Herbert as I spend most of my year at uni, and most of the holidays in Dubai so only see it occassionally at my parent's house in the country in the uk. (Trying to get a 2x12 for uni to fix this though!) Just wanted to say that is never ceases to suprise and amaze me at how crushing that thing is
Just fired it up after about 2 month of celibacy... I just hope it didn't cheat on me with the 5150 below it
Also does anyone else find the little noise the herby makes when it turns off really sexy? Sorry i'm abit obsessed with this amp

no noise here. Then again, I always turn the master to '0' before I switch it off.

You should always have the standby on, wait 5-10 seconds and then power it off - unless that's what you are doing.

Haha, man my old guitar teacher/tech always drilled the standby proceedure into me. I cringed when I see them flicking both switches on simultaneously in guitar shops I'm so paranoid about that I usually wait 1-2mins But yeah the shutdown sound is a really cool sorta modern technology type sound. Will try and record it for you guys sometime. I thought it was what they all did

I have mine for plm. a year now and am still amazed.

Yesterday: took the time and did all my drills for about 6 hours. All 3 channels kick ass! dude, i havent had a good nights rest because off the amp. Iff i were american i would bring diezel to court just because off the effect the amp has on my spare time.

Ive found a old engl 1X12 v30 cab second hand a while ago. I use this at home with the Herbert. I sit 4/5 meters away facing the speaker and wow the tone is just beautifull, Leads sing in a way i just cant describe. The rythem crushes like no other and the cleans are not from this earth. Playing with backingtracks, stand alone or in a band situation this amp delivers. I also have a new engl pro v30 cab, the speakers are not broken in and i still have to try this one again with my new settings.

I havent played my amps through a 4X12 in a while so i forgot how the experience is driving them full.

Even with the 1X12 the tone is thick, full and creamy. Damn, im gassing for a 4X12 But for playing at home the 1X12 is perfect

How to discribe the lead channel when eq'd proper: harmonicly rich

I came to the conclusion: my Herbert is the SHIT!

Haha, I genuinely feel sorry for your poor little 1x12 engl dealing with 180 bonecrushing watts! How does that thing not blow up?!
