Do you think The Joe Satriani Edition Marshall Jvm410hjs,is good or exellent for modern metal???? Hi gain tones like pantera, testament, nightwish, avenged sevenfold and that tones??

Can do it. Can do it better with a boost. But why? Lot of amps out there that would sound just as good for that stuff for a lot cheaper.

In my opinion the standard version is better than the Satch version.

Didn't like the fizzy tone of the jS head, sounded like his tone though... Like a distortion pedal. Go figure

Yes definitely can do metal, OD2 red channel of the 410 is as high gain as my Mesa Mark III.

Get a used JVM and send it to Voodoo for their mods. Makes it sound better than any JVM.

The JS doesn't sound any more like a distortion pedal than the original JVM. If any is buzzy, IMO it's the original JVM with insane amounts of unusable gain. Back off the gains and a wicked trebly bright cap kicks in making for a thin sound. Not an issue in the JS

I had a JVM Satch amp and there is no fizz in that thing. It's a great amp that does some great hard rock to 80's metal. You can get heavier with it thanks to that mid-shift feature scooping things out slightly but the amp is designed to gain up only so much until it becomes mushy.

That being said, the only reason I had to return mine was due to the fact that I've been asked to play with a house band and lugging the head and 4x12 is far too much for my aging back week in week out....it doesn't help that an MRI on my back had some lousy results with degenerating discs which I just found out. So, simply put, I had to get a much more compact setup.

If that wasn't the case and I could afford to keep it along with what I use now, I would have. It is an amazing sounding amp!

:)

Anyway ,i going to use a ovedrive pedal with other effects pedals ,so its be better the normal JVM?
