I'm getting a Whitebox soon and I can't decide between these two speakers. I've heard Swamp Thangs and I love them, but I've heard almost nothing but good things about the K100's, so I can't decide. I want a dark, slightly scooped speaker with lots of low end that doesn't sound muddy. I'm running it with my 5150 so I don't want any speaker break-up. What do you guys think? Maybe try mixing them?

Not a fan of the K100 at all. The Swamp Thang sounds good. I wouldnt exactly call it dark. Its thick though. Should be cool with a 5150

I love my K100s. I run a V30/K100 X pattern. I beat the SHIT out of them with my Framus and don't see any speaker break up unless I'm being STUPID with volume. Here's a vid of how my mix cab sounds. The volume is low, so you'll have to forgive the lack of ass my tone has. Trust me, they kick pretty good.

There's some mic clipping, but it is much more bearable if you turn your volume down a hair on the vid to accommodate for it.

Swamp Thangs are nice. as mentioned, i wouldn't call them dark, but they do have less mids than a British cone speaker.
