Has anyone else seen this

It looks basically like a little box with 2 12ax7's that plugs into a tube socket and adds a gain stage.. pretty cool but the idiot in this video puts his amp on standby and rips a tube out!! Wouldnt it be more prudent to shut the entire amp off?

i turn my amp to standby. you dont even have to do that though.
 
and %99 of the people here are familiar with the Kasha stuff. He makes good stuff. and also not and idiot in case you were leaning in that direction.
 
I want to try one of those. I like everything Kasha offers down to the pedals.
 
hot swapping of preamp tubes is pretty common. I always turn the amp on standby before that. Calling him an idiot because you don't know the possibilities is not cool.
 
Oh im aware of what the mod does and its definatly cool basically adding another gain stage. I was just not aware that you can rip a preamp tube out of an amp that is on.. seemed idiodic but i guess it isnt.. not something i would ever do just being cautious with my gear. An extra gain stage is always a good thing!
