har har har !!

Great pics, Bro!

What did you think of the tone, Olaf??

Thanx!!
Keith

The Dino?
Sounds very nice. You feel that the builder just uses Über-Boutique-parts, indeed. For those coming from Marshalls and stuff its the perfect logical boutique step IMO.

btw: no chance to play the Alchemist - the Dino and Schmidt were the only amps I could spend some time with . . .

Schmidt is unbelieveable. Unfuckingbelieveable, esp. with the new cab:

Any word on Hagen?

btw that Schmidt looks fucking awesome. If it's sub 2K I might pick one up.

Thanx Olaf!
I thought you'd like it.
Did you think it (Dino) was overly bright?

Larry had a GB cab there - I hate GBs :D

I would't call it overly bright, Keith. It has a characteristical upper-mids/treble frequency though.

Is the Schmidt sort of like Diezel's version of the Shiva Olaf? More old school gain and killer clean?

Hi Tom,

I wouldn't say that. This is Class A, Shiva is Class A/B.

Schmidt has an unreal clean and an excellent crunch - and boost puts it up to leads. The gain is oldschool with super string separation and really breathing. A guy played AC/DC stuff thru it wich was like Malcom/Angus were in the room - bt without stack and less volume. In the very best way, if you know what I mean. Hard to describe.

Oh man, I would kill to play a Larry Amp. :inlove:
I refused to play it - I just asked somebody to play while I could listen and tweak some pots :D

Are you serious ? Because the feel of the Larry is what really makes it so incredible. If you didn't play it yourself you missed out bigtime.

Frankfurt fair is different from Namm. There's the noise police : you aren't allowed to play even louder room level, you know. I would have played it of course under different conditions.

Some manufaturers (like Diezel) have a isolated room for this purpose . . .

It sounds like he didnt want to because he would like it too much!

:)

Ahem, no.
I have huge respect for Larry, he's a nice guy and super helpful in the Metro and a kraut DIY forum, but I would have preferred to play that amp at gigging levels, which was impossible. Thats what I told him too.

And the Tokai he had there had microphonic pickups.
