I can't believe I'd been thinking of getting a Kemper for nearly five years but only just got one.

Wish I'd done it sooner. Easy to use, and sounds and feels great. Mine's a powered rack that I put into a 4x12. I've taken some direct amp profiles of my JMP 2204 and a UAFX Knuckles (Recto pedal).

Made some unfortunately sloppy clips with an SM57 on the cab. None of these are direct recordings.

Cleanish JMP (nearly dimed low input)

Crunch JMP

[edit] Same 2204 hi input profile, SD-1 boosted

Recto Red

good stuff and congrats!

Kemper are terrific, especially if you want “your tone” in a nice clean package that can easily be taken anywhere

Do the new ones do that thing on the bass frequencies? The old one somehow added bass and tightened the bass.

First profile I made came out with too much bass and gain.

Next time, I noticed the machine wanted to add 3.3 worth of Tube Dynamics(?) or something. I zeroed that out before saving and now the profiles seem to match the amp, to me at least.

Nice. I never dove that deep when I had one. Did sound better than the AXE-III

those things do sound really fun, do they "feel" like a tube amp as well? That kind of bloom and give under your fingers, where it feels connected. Never got to play one, but they have always intrigued me.

Yup.

Way back in the day there was a firmware update that addressed this IIRC. I'm talking many years ago now.

@cardinal congrats on your new toy mate.

Many of us who own one believe it's the best pro-audio investment we've ever made.

mo money, mo money, mo money!!! My wallet was coughing dust a month ago, now it's looking at me like Tiny Tim.

You can pick 'em up at 30-40% off second hand. Just something to consider.

They've retained their value extremely-well 'cause the late-2011 / early-2012 model is still the current one.

I'm going to look into it after the Christmas devastation on the wallet. I think I just paid off last years nuclear strike in October. :(

Feels good to me. The dynamics are there. The dimed out JMP profile in particular seems to breath and pulse the way I'd want.
