I thought it was an ok review minus him saying it sucked because you can only use 4 stompboxes..!!??!! 4 stompboxes???!!!??

it wasn't the review he was talking about, follow the next few posts and you'll see the craziness lol.

Im sure that this question has been asked but for the life of me, I cant figure out how a guy who was smart enough to build such an incredible device didnt think to build it in a rack friendly format..

+100

I would own one right now if it was in rack format.

The have a rack unit coming in the very near future that was confirmed by Kemper himself. The idea was that they wanted to keep it amp like in terms of tweaking everything on the front with knobs and buttons. Some people(like me) love the approach but they quickly noticed there was a demand for a rack unit and developed one!

Gotcha though I would think that you could make it rack friendly AND amp like at the same time no?

Yessiree, and I think that's why it's going to be a larger rack unit like 3 or 4 space.

right on, that makes alot of sense on top of making it a bit more practical IMO

I personally love my kemper sitting on my rack top, big knobs to grab to eq, and I don't have to unrack it if I want a grab and go and easier to reach behind, don't have to walk behind my rack, cause right now there is a whole lot of popping in and out of the USB stick...... BUT I can see why a rack is wanted by some, and I think it won't be long as they recognize the need..

He comes from the synth world where people aren't so closed minded and traditional. Guitar players in general are some of the only musicians who consistently complain about things like that.

In the synth world table-top units are what is in. Rack units are being shyed away from in favor of table-top units. It makes sense to me why he designed it this way, although I agree that some business analysing would have showed him how guitarists are different from synth people...

The way I see it, even in the synth world, guys pack stuff up and gig or travel with it. Ive seen plenty of things out there that are tabletop stand alone units that can become rackable simply by screwing on rack ears.

I just dont see how my query could be guitar player specifif as practically all musicians besides drummers rack stuff quite often

Aparently they said there will be a 3-space rack unit in a few weeks. Same price...
