This is my review after spending a week with my new Kemper power rack . I build my own tube amps for fun and very biased to (real amps) . I must say the guys over at Kemper are unreal ! The tones I'm getting out of this thing are just baffling !! I even profiled my 1987 modded 2203 and I can't tell what track is what it's that good . Even called the guys over that hated on me for buying the Kemper and they BOTH are ordering units next week. No bull shit these things rule. I updated my software to current and that's what did it for me . Blown away ... The driftwood nightmare 100 profile from G1 is the tone I always had in my head . Some really killer profiles out there , the feel is the most important thing for me and its there . I had a axe fx ultra with matrix 1000 and that lasted a week with me , nothing against axe just was not for me . I own a lot of high end amps and I can happily say I could sell all of them and be happy (I'm not but could). ;). Hope this helps . Again I had and owned high quality tube amps so I have experience in this realm .

I'm running the Kemper out of my v30 cabs .. The Kemper power amp is stupid loud like 2203 loud if you ask me .. Figured I would mention that.

So you find it maintains the subtle nuances of a tube amp? And as well, you are running the solid state power amp of the Kemper into a guitar cab, not a FRFR, do not have any cab profiles loaded and it still sounds good?

Yes I turn the cab sims off . Yes the Kemper sounds amazing !!! I can't find anything I don't like about the tone and feel !!!

I agree it's close but not quite there in the feel department for me. I'm glad it worked out for you though. Nothing like getting a new piece of gear and being blow away. I played mine exclusively for a while and then went back to my tube heads and it was like, oh yea this is better.

Did you have new model Kemper? Also new software? I still have my tube amps and would never sell out of real amps . BUT. I can tone match any one of my amps . I play high gain amps no classic rock or anything like that so maybe that's why you did not get along with it ?

I feel the Kempers about high gain . The driftwood nightmare profile rocks my socks lol

The Kempers input and output need tweaking to sound balls with a 4x12 . There is another EQ in the power section that really brings the beef bottom end wise . All my profiles have rectifier bottom end lol. Thing moves so much air ..

I'm still blown away by my Kemper each time I turn it on it's really that killer . Fucking crazy . Been a little over a month with it .

Well you are one of the first guys I've come across that have been impressed with going with the non FRFR route. So that's good to know.

I was 100% skeptical. Finally picked up a Kemper (non-powered) Bought ISP Stealth power amp playing through Mesa 4x12 in stereo. NO FRFR for me. Im loving it. Profiled my Helios and Small Box and this thing is killer. Fun to play, easy to download profiles and try them out. Effects sound great. Going to try it with the band next practice.

Right on. I profiled my Splawn and it sounds great.

You guys sharing your profiles on the exchange?

Mine are under JerEvil. Studio, Direct Amp

Your Splawn profiles were some of the first ones I downloaded
I have to back and try the DI's next

I'm still figuring my way around the Kemper

I uploaded one of my Small Box (GSA) when first day I got. I was clueless learning how to profile
Setting levels things like that.

I'll upload some Helios profiles tonight

How is the Stealth? I was looking at videos of that the other night. Sucks that it has that ugly power supply. I would prefer the unit be bigger and use a regular power cable.

Is it loud enough to play at home studio levels without say a drummer?

It was loud enough to hurt my ears. I was happily surprised
