Well, that sounded great and in no way resembled the tubby experience I had with 3 early small logo G Duals. So, I have to come to the conclusion that NO G DNA in that amp at all. Gotta be more F and earlier. Which is how it should be since the Gs were very sterile compared to F or earlier Rectos that I've played. And, yes I boosted the shit outta the G Duals and still TUB city. The Triple Gs are another story, however. MUCH better than the Duals.

I had one of these modded Rammstein Triple ReV Gs (among others) and i didn't like it.

I would say it has the chug and low end of an F but the attack of a G. My Rev F is a very special one, it often beats other Fs that it has been put up against, and the reissue had the nice full bottom of the F with a slightly brighter overall tone.
 
Absolute killer of a review man. You captured the tone of that amp well IMO.

At the end of the video though I wasn’t left impressed. Not because of the recording (badass playing and riffing btw!) but at that price point I’d expect the fizz to be tuned out and the performance to be improved further if it’s not going to be feature laden. Could be my mood today but I just wanted to be knocked back wowed and I didn’t feel that way.

I just think there’s better contenders at that price, headfirst Alta for starters or pick your poison amp modders out today.

Mark III transformer?
 
The rectifier tube setting to me is just so good. Mesa dual rectifier in general not rerelease specific.

Ill switch spongy and bold depending on the day of the week. The rectifier tube setting though. It feels good to play to me and sounds so much better.
 
Clips sound good. I’m going to try one and see how it goes.

I’m far beyond wanting anything these days and own most everything I’d ever want and need. I just buy to try these days, and go in with the assumption I’ll keep very little (if anything) that I buy.
