Tim has excellent range and has done some good stuff but when he covers the more subtle Halford material (Desert Plains, Beyond the Realms of Death, etc) he’s always sucked. Zero subtlety and nuance. I hate it when he goes into a grunge type voice when Halford originally did it clean.I gotta be honest I think the music sucks. I’ve tried listening to the new album and it’s like a local band got a big break but not in a good way.
I’ve come to actually hate Tim Owens voice.
Agreed. He definitely has a hell of a range. It just feels like he overdoes everything and not in the good way.Tim has excellent range and has done some good stuff but when he covers the more subtle Halford material (Desert Plains, Beyond the Realms of Death, etc) he’s always sucked. Why in the heck is KK not in Priest?? There are 2 original members now and one is the bass player who plays 8th notes all night
I read KK's book and he said Tipton put his solos down and was a jerk for years before he left. Sounded like he was hard up for cash too
The new material so wants to tap into modern metal which I cannot standSo true about those basslines.. talk about a gig you barely need to prep for. I think it is no secret that Tipton was the better lead player but KK was bringing the goods on Ram it Down and Painkiller and they played off each other well I thought.
Songs that have dynamics both in riffs and vocals allow for melody and hooks which grab the listeners ear and are both memorable and you might actually want to listen to them again and again over the years!
Yeah JP is doing the more “modern” thing much better. The new material so wants to tap into modern metal which I cannot stand
I loved Priest in the 'Unleashed in the East' era
