Hi everyone! Some of my friends have had great results with KT-77s on their amps(non Diezels, suckers). They have got more clarity and even more punch than when using EL-34s. So have anyone tried KT-77s or are you using some other tubes than those or EL-34s on your Herberts?

Experiences with VH4 or with KT-77s on other amps are very welcomed too.

Peter Stapfer told me he tried KT77 in his VH4 and that they sounded great. Very defined and punchy. Unfortunately I can't tell you more because I haven't heard it.

i've tried a quad of jj77s in my vh4 and they sounded great.

I experienced the JJ-KT77 as "bassy" sounding.
Of course it´s a good tube.

in my vh4, jj KT77s are like a mix between EL34s and 6L6s.

for me, they were sharp and aggressive with a nice big punchy low end. fairly compressed. very sharp highs when the master and/or presence is cranked... almost sci-fi. great for metal.

overall, they were cool, but other power tubes offer less compression... they're worth a try.

Thank you very much for the comments! I´m tempted ;) I play almost exclusively metal so they might be perfect tubes for me.

What brand would you recommend when talking about KT-77s? I found Diezels to be quite dark sounding so if they would be pretty bright and open sounding they would be perfect. JJ´s KT-77s seem to be good but at least their EL-34s sound dark to me. Do you guys know if this is the case also with their KT-77s? They sound fantastic on my friends Dual Rectifier but it´s very bright sounding amp so I´m not sure if they would be right choice for me.
