I have received about 15 requests in the past 3 months to record a Lamb of God clip. I received some inspiration about an hour and a half ago and decided to give it a shot. I put the drums together and decided to lay down some bass and guitars over it.

This clip is VERY rough (and not recorded in its entirety). I listened to the song about 3 times and gave it a whirl. I will say that it isn't 100% in terms of performance. I don't play this kind of music very much at all anymore so my "alternate chug picking" is not really up to snuff. I mainly did this clip for tone purposes. There are definitely many players on this board that can play circles around me with this style of music.

I'm not 100% happy with the mix but thought it turned out okay.

What are your thoughts?

I like it! However, it's a bit too dark (and extremely dark if you were trying to go for the LoG tone). LoG actually has the presence pretty much maxed out on their amps. I think you did a good job though!

good Job, I think your guitars need to come up m ore in the mix and yeah it was a bit too dark for the LOG tone. But it was a good job I liked it alot.

Thanks man! I agree that it is dark and lacks the presence that those guys dial in but I just can't get myself to dial it in like they do. Personally, I am not a huge fan of their recorded tone on New American Gospel. I like the tone to be a tad dark.

Thanks! I made a comment in the post above regarding the dark tone.

The distance in the guitars is a direct reflection of the clip being recorded at whisper volumes (4 kids and 1 wife sleeping at 11:30pm). I'll crank the amp next time.

your clips rock dude like always

Your playing is awesome for trying out a new song, wish I can do that haha.

Do you have any settings you can share?
