I'm playing everything from SRV to Trivium to Pink Floyd to Deep Purple.

I'm owning a rack which includes ADA MP-1, Carvin T-100 and Marshall 1912 112 cab.
I have the option to get instead of my rig (no $ for 2 rigs at the moment) either a Marshall DSL401 or a Laney VC30, which will be used with my MP1 or dist pedal.

which would you take for all of the tones I listed?

Thanks!

DSL will get more modern. Any of them will do those tones though with a boost.

The DSL401 is IMO crap. Poorly built, unreliable, poor tone. Avoid. the DSL heads are 100 times better.

vc30 (with the caveat that I haven't tried that rack setup, so I kind of just ignored it). EDIT: i didn't vote because of that, as I didn't want to skew it.

EDIT #2: agreed with laxu on the dsl front, the head is a lot better.

The ADA is basically a take on a Marshall with tons of versatility. With a boost, it can easily get into modern territory. The Marshall is a Marshall. The Laneys always have a very Marshall-esque flavor. Just keep what you have man.

I say get a nice boost and a new cab for your Rack set up, and you should be good to go. Maybe a EQ too.

To make it clear,
I love my current tones,
I'm just missing that fat warm clean tone coming out of a combo amp...
