Well I got my DSL 50 last week and I'm really diggin' it. I don't know why they get slagged so much. Part of me thinks because they are not metal monsters on their own IMO. To me it sounds great without pedals, but I like boosting the lead channel for ultra chunk.

The clean/crunch channel on the other hand...DAMN...on it's own it sounds nice and big, but with the BB on the crunch channel it sounds MASSIVE. Major hard rock/metal tones galore. Especially with the LP it sounds amazing. I'm really happy with this amp. I can't wait to get my Weber greenbacks and to put them in my Mojo 4x12. Oh and this was running into an Avatar 2x12 with a vintage 30/hellatone 30 combo and it sounds GREAT.

I love my DSL 50 also ....

and yeah boosting the clean/crunch is awesome .

I've got mine running into a 1960a with greenbacks ....

It's a friggin awesome amp IMO

don't get me wrong if I could afford a VHT UL or a Mark IV I'd be all over it probably ...

glad your digging your DSL brother !!!!!

Hell Yeah I love my BB preamp.

My LP into my Germino and the tones are great classic hard rock crunch.

Through the Two Rock it's simply heavenly.

Yeah man, it definitely kicks ass.

Seriously though, I think a VHT or Mark IV is just a different kind of amp. I'm not saying either one is better. I WOULD buy a Mark IV for certain things. Most likely I would if I was playing prog or metal that needs a tighter attack. BUT, for the pure raw Marshall sound, I really think it's hard to beat.

I had a JVM and that was a great amp as well, awesome master volume and definitely more saturation. I think I like the simplicity and bare bones sound of the DSL more though. I've definitely figured out that I like my amps simple and British voiced. Woot!
